Google Analytics
Google Analytics should be installed on websites to track a swathe of user facing data essentially automatically.
It is possible to add context to Google Analytics by supplying UTM parameters(google.support.utm) in the URL. As much as possible it is good to standardize on the UTM parameters; the following being the "known" UTMs:
